WCBA Summer BBQ 2026

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the West Coast Bass Anglers, it’s that we apparently know how to throw a BBQ.
This weekend the WCBA crew got together in San Dimas for our Summer BBQ, hosted by our fearless president, “Compa” Chris.
And first off, the weather actually cooperated. Like a great philosopher once said, “IT’S HOT OUT HERE FOR A PIMP!”
And there were tacos. Lots of tacos.
There was plenty of fishing talk, plenty of fishing stories, and, naturally, plenty of shit talking. Because apparently we can’t get a group of bass fishermen together for five minutes without somebody explaining why the fish should have been caught, why somebody else’s fish doesn’t really count, or how they would have won if they’d just gotten one more bite.
And then there were the shirts.
Honestly, I’ve never seen so many out-of-shape vatos voluntarily take their shirts off in one location. I’m sure OG Medina loved it.

But hey… that’s what summer BBQs are for. 😂
Most importantly, it was just a damn good time hanging out with the people who make this club what it is. We fish together, compete against each other, bust each other’s balls, and then sit around eating tacos like we weren’t just trying to outfish the hell out of each other on the water a few weeks ago.
Big thanks to Compa for hosting and putting it all together, and thanks to everybody who showed up and helped out, or simply contributed to the noise level. We appreciate you.
At the end of the day, this is what being part of WCBA is all about.
The tournaments are obviously a big part of it. But so are the BBQs, the meetings, the laughs, the trash talk, and getting together with a bunch of people who are just as stupid about bass fishing as you are.
Because a fishing club doesn’t become a club because of a logo, a website, or a tournament schedule.
It becomes a club because people are present.
And that’s what makes WCBA what it is!
