September Meeting Recap: Silverwood and Parker Draws Are Set
Congratulations to Our Latest Champions!
First things first: congratulations to Ed Cazeres and Mark Chadeayne on their 1st Place finish at Lake Piru!
The two teamed up for the win at Piru — home of the Whopper — and collected their well-earned first-place check at Wednesday night’s meeting.
Unfortunately, Ed and Mark weren’t able to get their official winner’s photo together at the meeting, so we’re going to have to get creative with that one. 😂

Congratulations, guys, and well done!
A Reminder About Tournament Fees
Starting now, members who pay their tournament fees after Wednesday at 11:59:59 PM will be subject to a $20 late fee.
If you have an issue with payment or run into a legitimate problem getting your fees submitted on time, contact Sherman and get it sorted out.
The goal is simple: get the tournament roster and money squared away before tournament week instead of chasing people down at the last minute.
And Yes, We Finally Made a Page for This
We’ve also added a dedicated Co-Angler Fee Schedule to the WCBA website.
Because apparently we were going to be answering the same co-angler fee questions every few days forever. 😂
The new page includes a Southern California lake map, showing the lakes covered by each fee category, along with the current co-angler fees, boat fuel costs, lake access fees, and the 50/50 gasoline and lodging arrangement for two-day events.
Co-Angler Fee Schedule – West Coast Bass Anglers
Bookmark it. Save it. Put it somewhere you’ll actually remember where it is.
Hopefully this will answer the question before somebody has to ask.
December Counts
One item we confirmed at the meeting was that December’s tournament will count toward the 2026 AOY points race.
The lake for December is still TBD, so we’ll announce that once it’s finalized.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Tournament Director Frank Schwamborn is already working on the 2027 tournament schedule.
This year’s changing lake conditions have given us a pretty good reminder that scheduling a tournament season isn’t simply a matter of picking dates and throwing lake names on a calendar.
Frank is taking seasonal lake levels and conditions into consideration when putting the schedule together, particularly with the San Diego lakes after May. This year’s conditions were a good example of why that matters.
He’s also working around the schedules for WON Bass and Angler’s Marine events to avoid unnecessary conflicts with major tournaments.
The club also voted to add Lake Nacimiento to the schedule in place of the Lake Havasu two-day tournament.
More details will follow once the 2027 schedule is finalized.
September Tournament — Silverwood
The first draw of the night was for the September tournament at Silverwood.
The pairings are:

- Rory Parker / Sherman Wray
- Gerald Sowers / Miguel Lizarraga

The draw is set. Now it’s time to see who can turn the pairing into a good day on the water.
October Two-Day — Parker
The second draw of the night was for the October two-day tournament at Parker.
The current pairings are:
- Gerald Sowers / TBD
- Frank Schwamborn / Mark Chadeayne

There are still a couple of co-angler spots to be finalized, so those pairings will be updated once confirmed.
That’s a Wrap

Wednesday’s meeting covered a little bit of everything: congratulating our latest champions, handing out the check, getting the next two tournaments drawn, settling the December points question, and getting the wheels turning on the 2027 schedule.
Silverwood is next.
Parker follows in October.
December counts.
Nacimiento is coming to the 2027 schedule.
See you on the water.
